In the 1990s, a large number of coffee roasteries emerged in Slovenia. There were dozens of them, but nowadays only a few of them still operate. One of the most successful is our coffee roastery Emonec where the family tradition of the late Mr. Bozidar Luzar is proudly continued by his daughter Manuela Luzar Pozek and her family and the story has been proudly continued into the third generation.
A story is hidden behind each cup of Emonec Coffe. This is a story arising from countless hours, sleepless nights and lots of tested coffee cups. Everything with just one single goal – to create a unique flavour that the coffee lovers will never forget.

Secret recipe
The biggest secret is hidden in an innovative preparation recipe which was perfected in all details 27 years ago by Mr. Dean Požek. Many coffee roasteries are still trying to get to the secret recipe. But our secret recipe is still our closely guarded secret.

Our specialists for coffee beans selection are skilled experts who are able to select the finest coffee beans delivered directly from verified producers on own plantations in the heart of Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala and Vietnam. Without any agents and without »unknown« origin.
Modern coffee roastery
Extremely large furnace = capacity of 240 kg (The majority of roasteries have furnaces with capacity of 120 kg or several smaller furnaces.)
Electronically-controlled silos with high-capacity = 12 silos of rough coffee beans - (which is huge) – and 2 silos of roasted coffee beans. (The majority of roasteries have significantly lower number of silos.)

Roasting is the most important stage in coffee beans processing. When roasting, several varietals of coffee types are mixed together. This is a process of continuous mixing in a closed cylindrical machine in order to prevent evaporation of flavoring substances generated by the roasting. After roasting the coffee beans are cooled down quickly in order to close the cracks on the surface of coffee beans and to prevent the loss of ethereal oils.
In coffee roastery Emonec coffee is packed targeted and carefully in a very special way. We use unique materials in order to keep the coffee aroma generated during roasting. We also prevent wetness of foreign aroma and oxygen access. Thus coffee is protected from light, oxygen and moisture.
The art of roasting
In our coffee roastery the wonderful gray-green coffee beans are roasted with love and turned into chocolate brown coffee beans. We carefully devote attention to each varietal of rough coffee and roast it in its most appropriate way. Everything with a purpose to get the flavours and aromas that provide our coffee consumers unique flavour and heavenly pleasure when drinking Emonec Coffee.
